This week’s photo challenge is ‘Symbol.’

Diwali is the Indian festival of lights, symbolising the victory of good over evil. The gods of prosperity and wealth are prayed to and diyas, or oil lamps, are lit to welcome happiness and success into homes. Every year I help my parents decorate our house with candles, lights, and diyas on Diwali. This photo was taken on one of those occasions.
