Hello everybody! I hope you’re all well. Today I’m coming to you with a book tag I found on Kirsty’s blog The Bibliophile Girl, called the Reading Habits Book Tag. Like most readers, I have particular preferences when it comes to reading. Here are just a few…
Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
Not really. Depending on my mood (and how noisy my family is being!), I could be hanging out on the living room armchair or curled up in bed with the door shut.
Bookmark or random piece of paper?
Take a guess! Although, desperate times call for desperate measures, so I have occasionally used a bus ticket…
I’ve customised two of the bookmarks in this photo myself; if you’d like to learn how, take a look here!
Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/a certain amount of pages?
Unless the story is really gripping, I can generally stop reading anywhere.
Do you eat or drink whilst reading?
I can’t! Either I eat/drink too much and neglect my book, or I get too engrossed in the story and the food/drink gets cold.
Here’s a secret: that cup is empty
Multitasking: Music or TV whilst reading?
Nope. I need quiet while I read.
One book at a time or several?
Depends on the book(s). In the past, I’ve read multiple books together for my course, which prevented me from getting too bogged down in books I didn’t particularly enjoy. But if I’m reading something I really like, I prefer to focus on that entirely.
Reading at home or everywhere?
Whilst I do like reading on trains/planes, I would ultimately choose home.
That’s where all my books are at my fingertips, and I can be totally comfortable.
Read out loud or silently in your head?
Usually I read silently, unless I’m having trouble concentrating.
Do you read ahead or skip pages?
I never skip pages, and I try not to read ahead! But when I was a kid I used to read the last page first, for some reason…
Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?
I would never break the spine on purpose, but I don’t mind a bit of wear. I actually like cracked spines on old books especially.
Do you write in your books?
Only if I’m reading them as part of my course…
… and always in pencil.
And that’s the end of the tag! If you’ve read this far and are occasionally found with a book in your hand, I tag you to answer as many or few of these questions as you like.
This was quite fun to work on, so I hope you enjoyed reading it! Recently, I’ve been thinking about establishing a posting schedule: a longer post on Mondays, Weekly Photo Challenges on Wednesdays, and Friday Fictioneers on Fridays. This leaves me the weekend for any shorter, fun posts like this that I might want to publish, which I’ve decided to make into a series called Sleepy Sunday. Thank you for reading, and I hope to see you again soon!
