Weekly Photo Challenge: Boundaries

I haven’t done one of these in a while! This week’s photo challenge is ‘boundaries.’ I took this photo last year when a friend and I went exploring the town near our uni. The weather kept fluctuating between rain and sun but exams had just finished so nothing could really ruin the day! I managed to capture a (kind of) sunny moment here. 🙂

Friday Fictioneers: Tunnel

This is my first go at Friday Fictioneers, where writers respond to a prompt with 100 words or less. Thank you to Rochelle for providing the following photo prompt.

Grace’s footsteps echoed as she entered the tunnel. For a moment, she turned back towards the light. A deep breath; then she continued.

The light flickered above her as always. Her hand gripped the wall. This was where the air had been torn from her lungs. The ground had swung upwards. Pain drilled through her. A long, gurgled scream—

Grace took deep breaths. Slowly returned to empty tunnel. It had not been any easier, but it had passed quicker today.

The tunnel had a twisted past. But for the first time, she saw light at the end of it.
